The sudden threat of the TAP gas pipeline
Bulgaria and Greece have postponed the signing of an investment decision on the construction of the gas pipeline, scheduled for June 12, announced Deputy Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov. "I hope that the signing of the final investment decision on the construction of a gas pipeline from Greece will take place before the end of June. The ministers of the two countries will discuss a new date at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg," said Stankov, without specifying the cause of postponement of the signing.
Construction of the pipeline, which should be the branch of the strategic gas pipeline TAP (Trans) is due to start in March 2016, and in 2018 it should be put into operation. According to him, since 2019, Bulgaria expects to receive annually from Azerbaijan about a billion cubic meters of gas, reports Tass.
The pipeline will be 182 km, 150 km will pass through the territory of Bulgaria. The gas pipeline costing about 210 million Euros is designed to pump 3 billion cubic meters of gas. -0D-
