The use of stolen mobile equipment will be impossible in the near future
The registration system of mobile devices, which will be implemented in the near future by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, will be aimed at protecting the interests of consumers.
According to the Center for ICT ministry, under the "Rules of registration of mobile devices," approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic, the regulation of the local market for mobile devices will be, first and foremost, to serve safety and convenience of users of this technology.
After the introduction of the regulation, the level of mobile phone thefts will drop to a minimum. In addition, the chance of returning phones to their owners will increase multiply because of the international registration IMEI-code for every mobile phone in the system.
Through it (to some extent similar to the principle of blocking the bank debit / credit card) stolen or lost mobile phones are locked and their use in Azerbaijan will become impossible. To do this, the owner of the phone will need only apply to the customer service center of mobile operators or the Registration Center Mobile Device. Additionally, IMEI-code of a stolen cell phone will be introduced to the international "black" list, and thereby prevented its use in many countries. All these measures will prevent malicious desire to commit theft of handsets, as virtually to exclude the sale of stolen mobile phones.
Many countries have already favored the introduction of such a system. For example, the U.S., Turkey and India have already implemented this system. In the European Union uses a special system for the exchange of information, designed to prevent the use of phones in the mobile networks. For example, from 2001 to the present day in the UK registered 710,000 stolen mobile phones. After the introduction of the system of information exchange in the European Union repeatedly reduced the level of mobile phone thefts.
In the three years preceding the introduction of registration systems of mobile devices in Turkey were reported 7 cases of murder and robbery 31,200 mobile phones. After the introduction of registration numbers, the number of crimes connected with mobile phones will greatly diminish.
Given that the majority of street robberies with mobile devices are a welcome subject in Russia this state has also planned to introduce registration systems of mobile devices. - 17D-
