Tomorrow starts the 20th International Exhibition of Construction BakuBuild 2014
Tomorrow, October 22 at the Baku Expo Center begins its work the 20th Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition BakuBuild 2014, which has attracted a record number of participants - 490 companies from 29 countries of the world. Today the organizers of the exhibition held a press conference on its preparation.
Executive Director of the exhibition company ITE Group PLC Edward Strachan said that for 20 years the exhibition hosted more than 3,200 companies from 35 countries, and more than 100 thousand visitors. «BakuBuild, acquiring the status of an effective business platform, has been formed by the market trend of building services," he said.
Caspian Construction Week combines the exhibitions BakuBuild, Aqua-Therm Baku and CIPS. The largest number of participants are Italy (72 companies) and Turkey (41 companies). The exhibition will be attended by national teams from Germany, Hungary, Italy, Iran, Spain, Portugal, and the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, 40% of the exhibitors are local companies, including debutants in roofing, said the manager of the exhibition Maya Gafarli.
The representative of the State Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning Jahanghir Gojayev noted that in the construction sector, there is a competitive environment, and foreign companies by selection for tenders come into the local market, introducing new technologies, including landscaping. For example, this exhibition will be attended by the Italian company, which will demonstrate and offer new solutions for landscape architecture.
Another surprise will be facing materials, made from the remnants of volcanic dust from manufacturers from Japan. Wooden windows, doors and floors will be presented by leading European brands. Special attention is given to the section of construction equipment, which will be located in the open area in front of the complex and with the participation of the leading brands Amcador, Iveco, JCB, Hitachi, Hyundai, Manitou, Volvo, Caterpillar, Hidromek and others.

Azerbaijan is poised to increase wheat imports for the 2024-2025 season following a significant drop in domestic wheat production this year. According to data from the State Statistics Committee, the country harvested 1.68 million tons of wheat in 2024, marking an 8.1% decline from the previous year. This downturn in output, combined with rising import volumes in recent months, indicates that Azerbaijan may lean more heavily on foreign suppliers to meet its wheat needs.

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) has announced the restructuring of its container transportation management in an effort to enhance the efficiency of transit cargo transportation. As part of this reorganization, ADY Express will merge with ADY Container starting on November 1, 2024.
