Tomorrow Strawberry Fair to Be Held in Ganja
Friday, August 23 in the city of Ganja in the park Khan Baghi there will be a Strawberry Fair. The products will be represented by about 60 farmers from five districts of the country.
In the organization OXFAM Azerbaijan said Turan, that the fair is held in the framework of SMART - Support for distressed farmers. The aim of the project is to ensure a sustainable chain for the production of strawberries, free access of farmers to the market in the sale and supply of cheaper products. The fair, except for the farmers, will be attended by representatives of five small processing plants.
SMART project is implemented in November 2010 in Barda, Tartar and Agdam districts with financial assistance from humanitarian organizations Oksfam (Britain) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The project has allowed many farmers in these and other areas of the country to improve the standards of living and family incomes, to develop cooperation between farmers, traders of agricultural products, seed suppliers and warehouses. - 08D-

The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAR) reported revenues of $4.60 billion from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil field in the January-September period of 2024, a decline of 12.1% compared to the same period last year. In 2023, SOFAR recorded revenues of $5.23 billion from ACG, the largest oil field in Azerbaijan.

Silk production in Azerbaijan decreased by 32.9% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2024, reaching 239.4 tons, according to data released by the State Statistics Committee. The decline was attributed to a reduction in the number of silkworm seeds distributed to farmers, reflecting a longer-term trend in the sector's contraction, noted agricultural expert Vahid Maharramov.
