Transparency Azerbaijan Reveals Danger of Corruption in Changes to Tax Code
NGO Transparency Azerbaijan considers it important to make certain changes to the Tax Code and bring agricultural land to tax. New requirements in the organization have entered since January 1st of this year. It is considered as "a danger of corruption."
The lands not used for their intended purpose due to lack of land treatment, land reclamation and irrigation conditions, will be attracted to the land tax of 0.06 AZN per 1 conditional point of 100 m2. In other cases, the tax rate will be 2 manat per 1 sq.m. The public association believes that this enables employees of local authorities to "negotiate" with the landowners, who for whatever biased reason do not use agricultural land for its intended purpose. To fix this loophole it is necessary to establish an electronic system for quality and land use.
In addition, many farmers cannot use their land for a simple reason - lack of funds. And higher taxes will lead to their impoverishment. -----08D
