Universal Terrestrial Station of Azerkosmos
By the end of the year Azerkosmos plans to build a universal ground station.
According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the main goal is the formation of ground-based infrastructure to receive real-time images from different satellites (optical and radar).
Acquire images from satellites and use the opportunities of the universal ground station will allow in the future to monitor the state borders, waste oil and gas industry, to determine the extent of pollution of air, water and marine oil spills. Increase the level of weather and climate change, the study of ecology and natural resources, information for mapping and urban planning, support for disaster management and emergency, development and support for agriculture, etc.
In addition, as a result of the negotiations with providers of satellite images of "Azerkosmos" in 2013, based on an agreed distribution contract commenced delivery to relevant government agencies optical and radar images taken by satellites. In parallel with this, the 2015 is scheduled to launch low-orbit satellite of Azerbaijan to observe the Earth's surface.
In this direction there are negotiations with manufacturers. In addition, Azerkosmos successfully passed the audit of quality management system to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and has received international certificate of quality from the organization Bureau Veritas, and documents for the international registration of the satellite at the UN have already been prepared. - 17D-

Azerbaijan’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils climbed 23.9% by weight and 16.2% by value from January to September 2024, official data revealed. Despite the uptick in volume, the import cost of these products saw a decrease compared to the same period last year, with the cost per ton of vegetable oil falling by 6.1% to $1,199.6 in 2024, down from $1,278.6 in 2023.
