What global services company offers for 1 billion azn?
Azerigas, gas transportation and distribution company of SOCAR, confirmed that it has signed a contract with Global Services LLC.
A source from the company told Turan that results of the tender were summarized on June 24, 2012, according to which Global Services was announced a winner. Till that time in April the company sent invitation for participation in the tender to 36 companies that have experience in such works. However, only 7 companies accepted the tender conditions and only three companies - Global Services, Tekfen Insaat and Olimp Muhendislik - competed in the end. Global Services offered the lowest price -1,071,063,000 AZN.
The contract was concluded with this company and announcement was published in the Republic newspaper on July 21, 2012.
Azerigas also reported that Global Services is an alliance, which unites 45 construction firms and companies specializing in various areas. While selecting the contractor, Azerigas pays attention to the fact that the companies should have not only skills to carry out specialized works, but also have certificates of appropriate institutions and organizations.
During the period of works from now till the end of 2013 Global Services will have to lay 1877 km of pipes with the diameter between 32 and 530 mm and 19,377 km of pipes with the diameter between 25 and 400 mm. It is also planned to install 463,514 gas meters (48,145 meters with smart cards and 415,369 mechanic gas meters) and lay 20,896 km of pipes with the diameter of 20-215 mm for this purpose.
The contract also envisages installation of 439,189 private gas regulators, 1, 162 gas regulating closets and install new regulating and control measuring equipment at 80 gas distribution stations.
A source from Azerigas said that the works will be done both in Baku and Absheron peninsula and the regions. Till the end of 2013 it is planned to gasify 463,514 apartments in various districts of the country.
As a result of the done works it is planned to increase level of gasification in Azerbaijan up to 95%.
By July 1, 2012 level of gasification in Azerbaijan is 76.2% (1,403,049 customers from the population category). Level of gasification in Baku is 96.2% (632,068 from the population category) and 65.2% in the regions (770,981 customers from the population category).-0-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
