BP: Gas production from “Shah Deniz” will reach 26 bcm in 2023
Baku/02.06.23//Turan: Gas production from the “Shah Deniz” field will reach 26 bcm per year in 2023, BP Regional President Gary Jones said. In 2022, 25.2 bcm of gas were produced from the “Shah Deniz” field. Thus, production growth in 2023 will be 3.2%.
"Currently, 73 mcm of gas are extracted from the “Shah Deniz” field every day and production growth are gradually continuing," Jones said speaking at the Baku Energy Forum.
The head of BP also added that the company is working to find new gas sources.
According to him, for this purpose, at the beginning of this year, the company began drilling a new exploration well at the “Shah Deniz” field to "detect much larger volumes of gas under the productive formations already being developed." In addition, drilling of a well is being completed to assess gas reserves in deep-gas formations at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields. –0-
