For First Time since 2011 Azerbaijan Records High Rates of Decline in Oil Production
Baku/19.04.17/ Turan: 9,464,500 tons of crude oil, including gas condensate, was produced in Azerbaijan in January-March of this year. This was reported in the State Statistics Committee's (SSC) report.
At the same time, the volume of commercial oil production amounted to 9,453,200 tons. In both cases, SSC recorded a decline in production of 9.9%.
That is, for the first quarter of 2017, the volume of commercial oil production decreased by 1 million 53 thousand tons.
It should be noted that according to the results of 2016, the country produced 41.03 million tons of oil. The government forecasted in 2017 to extract 40 million tons of raw materials. However, the decline in production volumes per 1 million tons was already recorded in the first quarter. It will be noted, judging by the statements of the country's Energy Minister, the decline in oil production will continue. Therefore, it is not yet clear how many liquid hydrocarbons will be produced in Azerbaijan by the end of the year. -12A
