Kazakhstan increased maritime oil transportation through exports via Azerbaijan in the first half of 2024, according to the half-year report of JSC "KazMunayGas" (the national oil and gas company). During the reporting period, the volume of maritime oil transportation increased by 26.4 percent, reaching 6.618 million tons.

Official Tehran is interested in transiting Russian gas, said Kazem Jalali, Iran's Ambassador to the Russian Federation. "There are already five fields in which the Russian Federation has invested [funds] and is operating. Regarding gas, I can say that there are two fields in southern Iran, and we are very interested in working with Russia," he told Russian journalists in Astrakhan. Jalali added that Iran "is ready to transport Russian gas through its territory."
