Azerbaijan’s president strengthens digital finance oversight

Azerbaijan has ratified the Council of Europe Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs, in a move aimed at reinforcing its legal framework and aligning with international standards in combating illicit organ trade.

Azerbaijan has taken a step toward digitising its criminal justice system after President Ilham Aliyev signed amendments to the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, marking what experts describe as the beginning of a new phase in legal modernisation.

Azerbaijan will introduce new rules governing inspection and maintenance in the gas sector, aiming to centralise data collection and strengthen safety controls across infrastructure, under a decision approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on March 19.

Azerbaijan has approved amendments to a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) agreement on interstate search procedures, in a move aimed at strengthening legal and security cooperation with member states and modernising mechanisms for tracking wanted individuals across borders.
