Erdogan Speaks with Captain of Hijacked Vessel (UPDATED)
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with the captain of the Mozart vessel seized by pirates, Furkan Yaren, the press service of the Presidential Administration reported on January 24.
“After receiving information that the ship is moving to Gabon with three crew members who survived the attack, the President said that he was closely monitoring the situation and gave instructions to take measures to rescue the abducted ship's crew,” the press service said.

Pirate Attack on Turkish Ship: Azerbaijani Killed
The Turkish ship, attacked by pirates off the coast of the city of Lagos in Nigeria, headed for the port of Port Gentil in Gabon.
As reported by the Anadolu agency, the Turkish container ship Mozart sailing under the flag of Liberia will reach the port coast at 09.00 Moscow time.
The ship was attacked by pirates the day before at 10.36, about 180 miles off the coast of Lagos. The pirates took 15 of the 19 crew members hostage.
All hostages are ethnic Turks. An ethnic Azerbaijani was killed in the clash. There are currently three crew members on board the ship, heading for Gabon.-0-
