287 new cases of COVID-19 infection detected in Azerbaijan
Baku / 01.24.20 / Turan: In Azerbaijan, over the past day, 287 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected, 568 people have recovered, 10 have died.
This is stated in the message of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, distributed on January 24.
The total number of infected people in Azerbaijan reached 228 975, including 220 292 recovered, 3 082 died, 5 601 active patients continue their treatment.
A total of 2,361,552 coronavirus tests were carried out in Azerbaijan, including 7,079 in the last 24 hours. — 06D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
