The Norwegian Foreign Minister announced the renaming of Belarus in official documents
ТАСС: The Norwegians will use the word Belarus instead of the former Hviterussland to refer to Belarus in official documents. This was announced by Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt on Sunday on her Twitter page.
"From today, the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus, we no longer use the name Hviterussland (from Hvite - "white" and Russland - "Russia" - approx. TASS) in Norwegian," the message reads. At the same time, Huitfeld used the word Belarus to refer to Belarus.
Sweden made a similar decision in November 2019, and Denmark in March 2021.--0--
