New (higher) excises applied to imported alcoholic drinks, they became 20-25% more expensive on Apr. 1. The excises rose as follows per liter: - Beer - from $0.7 to $1.0; - Vermouth and wine - from $1.5to $2.5; - Cognac, brandy, whisky, rum, tafia, sherry, liqueur, etc. - from $3.0 to $6.0.
