In August the prices of building materials rose by 1.4% in Baku.
In August rose fittings (+ 4.1%), asbestos slate (+ 4.6%), metal roofing (+ 4.6%), metal ceramics (+ 4.1%), glass 4 mm (+ 2.3%) and emulsion (+ 1%). For the rest of the building materials prices remained unchanged.
In July, prices for construction materials rose by 1.4% in June - by 2.3%, in May - by 0.78% in April - by 4.3% and in March - by 2%. In February, prices decreased by 8.5%. In January, they were stable. In December, prices rose by 19.2%. It was the most noticeable jump in prices for 2015. Before that, building materials fell significantly in November - by 8.6%. In October, the average price in Baku decreased by 0.5%, in September – by 0.027%, in August – by 1.75%, in July it increased by 0.32%, in June it decreased by 0.27%, in May it increased by 0.45%, and in April it decreased by 0.1%.
Experts point out that the practical stagnation of prices of most materials in the individual construction season proves the preservation of the crisis in the economy. As Turan previously noted, in the fall we should expect lower prices for construction materials in connection with the completion of the season, and mainly due to the fall in the purchasing power of the population.
Comparative prices of several construction materials for the last month are shown below:

In August 2024 in Baku, average prices of the consumer basket (CB) for 30 types of basic food products of domestic production, compiled by Turan agency, rose by 0.6%.

In August 2024, the situation with lending in 4 banks changed in Azerbaijan. Banks have revised interest rates on consumer loans in manats. Thus, Bank Avrasiya has increased the annual interest rate on mortgage loans (real estate collateral) from 12% to 12-14%.

In August 2024, the situation regarding deposit acceptance changed in one bank in Azerbaijan. Specifically, Access Bank increased its annual interest rate on classic deposits in manat from 9-9.5% to 9.5-10% for a one-year term. In the remaining 21 banks, deposit interest rates remained stable last month. The tables below show: Table 1 displays the annual interest rates for classic deposits, and Table 2 shows the rates for savings deposits.
