The media agenda during the reviewed period reflects growing contradictions in Azerbaijan’s relations with European institutions and several European Union member states. Inside the country, economic challenges are intensifying — inflationary pressure is increasing, oil and gas revenues are declining, and dependence on imports remains high.

The media agenda reflects the contradictions surrounding international political activity around Azerbaijan.

Over the past day, Azerbaijan was visited by two European delegations of the highest and high level — Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas.

Media outlets focus on the speeches of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia at the summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated his readiness to participate in a similar summit planned to be held in Azerbaijan in 2028. In turn, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who addressed the summit via video link, reaffirmed Baku’s commitment to the peace agenda and the normalization of relations with Armenia. At the same time, he criticized the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for “double standards” toward Azerbaijan.
