Activist Mohammad Kekalov brought to justice due to "Abzas Media" case
Baku/11/23/23/Turan: Public activist Mohamed Kekalov is accused of smuggling; he is involved in the criminal case of the leaders of the online publication "Abzas Media", a representative of the Interior Ministry told Turan.
"Mohamed Kekalov is involved in the same criminal case (criminal case against the director and editor–in-chief of "Abzas Media" - Ulvi Hasanli and Sevinj Vagifgizy) and is charged under Article 206.3.2 (smuggling by prior agreement of persons)," he said.
Recall that Kekalov was detained on the morning of November 20. His lawyer Rovshana Rahimova said that she could not get information about the place of Kekalov's detention and meet with him.
Note that Ulvi Hasanli and Sevinj Vagifgyzy were detained on November 20 and 21, respectively, and charged with counter-smuggling of foreign currency. The court arrested them for 4 months.
The lawyer stated that the accusations were groundless. The journalists themselves linked the arrests to investigations by "Abzas Media" of corruption in the highest echelons of power. –21B-
