Ali Hasanov: Criticism from Barack Obama is biased
Deputy Department Chief of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov expressed the attitude of official Baku to the statement of the United States that an extremely unfavorable situation for the existence of civil society has been created in Azerbaijan.
In an interview with state agency "Azertaj" Hasanov said that the recent critical resolution of the European Parliament, the statements of representatives of the United States in the OSCE, the United States President Obama's speech at the Global Forum, yesterday's criticism at the OSCE conference in Warsaw, as well as previous statements of the Human Rights Watch, Freedom House and other international organizations - are biased and have a goal "to put pressure on the independent policy of our government."
Ali Hasanov also said that such statements and criticism is done without considering the opinion of the Azerbaijani people. According to him, in the country are quietly flourishing hundreds of NGOs and the media, and the government take much care for them. At the same time, there are some circles that fund five or six NGOs, using them as a lever of pressure on the Azerbaijani authorities.
"We want to remind some Western circles that the Azerbaijani authorities protect the national interests of the Azerbaijani people, the safety and stability of society.
Azerbaijan is an independent state, it carries out domestic and foreign policy in accordance with the interests of the people, and will not act by someone's orders. "-02D-
