Ali Hasanov Remembered of International Obligations
The chief ideologist of the authorities, Ali Hasanov, suddenly thought of the international commitments of Azerbaijan and began a dialogue with civil society.
"In the pre-election period we will hold a series of meetings and are prepared to discuss with the opposition the concerns of all the parties," he said in an interview with reporters.
"We understand that there is an international community that has international obligations and elections are an issue of international concern," he said.
At the same time, he made it clear that Baku will not tolerate interference in the electoral process from the outside. "Everyone should understand that the results of the elections will be determined by the voters, the people of Azerbaijan, and not different centers of power," he said, without specifying which intervention in the electoral process he had in mind.
On the question of the fate of NDI, Hasanov said that Azerbaijan will not cooperate with NGOs that violate the law of Azerbaijan. -02D-
