Aliyev congratulated Pezeshkian and invited him to pay a visit to Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory message to Masoud Peseshkian on the occasion of his election as President of Iran. Congratulating Peseshkian "cordially" on his election to the post of President of Iran, Aliyev stressed that he attaches great importance to relations between Azerbaijan and Iran based on "such a solid foundation as common religious and cultural roots, friendship and brotherhood."
"Our agreements in the direction of further development of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations based on mutual respect and good neighborliness, the joint projects being implemented serve the well-being of our countries, the overall sustainable development and security of the region," Aliyev emphasizes.
He expressed confidence that through joint efforts it will be possible to further strengthen the traditional friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran and expand cooperation.
Aliyev invited Pezeshkian to pay a visit to Azerbaijan to exchange views on the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.
