Another traitor-officer arrested in Armenia
Baku/29.11.22/Turan: The National Security Service of Armenia announced on Tuesday the arrest of another officer recruited by foreign intelligence services.
According to the report, this is a major of the Armenian armed forces, who was recruited in July 2021 and signed a written cooperation agreement.
For money, he collected and transmitted information abroad that constituted state and official secrets.
From February to November 2022, through various mobile applications, he handed over secret documents about the duty station, the units of the Armenian armed forces in the eastern and southern directions to the representative of foreign special services. For this, he received $19,700. The officer, who has not been named, is arrested.
The message does not say who the officer was spying on. However, the data transmitted to them go back to the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. There is no doubt that the officer was spying for Azerbaijan.
Recall that after the end of the Second Karabakh War in Armenia and Karabakh, about 50 people were brought to justice on charges of espionage against Azerbaijan. Most of them are military personnel, including senior officers. -02D-
