APDP condemned police violence against residents of Seyudlu
Baku/23.06.23/Turan: The Azerbaijani Party of Democracy and Prosperity condemned the use of police violence against residents of the Seyudlu, Gedabey region who protested against the deterioration of the environmental situation, damage to nature and environmental pollution as a result of the discharge of cyanide-containing waters from a gold deposit.
"The use of pepper gas and rubber batons against elderly women is a depressing situation in the country's law enforcement system and reveals the repressive nature of the political regime," the APDP said in a statement.
The APDP demanded that the authorities immediately stop poisoning the environment in Seyudlu with cyanide acid, punish police officers who committed acts of violence against the population, lift the blockade of the village, release villagers sentenced to administrative arrests.
Recall that the APDP was established in February 2015; it is headed by scientist-economist Gubad Ibadoglu. -06B-
