Araik failed to persuade Karabakh residents to open road through Aghdam
Baku/29.08.23/Turan: Last evening a spontaneous rally was held in the central square of Khankandi. The local Armenian population came to demand from "President" Araik Harutyunyan to solve the issue of opening the Lachin road.
At the same time, this issue was discussed at a meeting of the "Security Council" held by Harutyunyan at his residence.
After the 6-hour session Harutyunyan came out to the audience and said that three issues were discussed: the fate of three young men detained at the Lachin border checkpoint, the issue of providing food and opening the road (through Aghdam) and the issue of Harutyunyan's resignation.
According to him, it was not possible to agree on anything. "We reached this state because we believed everyone - superpowers, the UN."
At the same time, he promised that the food problem would be solved within a few days, but did not explain how.
He concluded by saying that he was ready to resign "if necessary."
Responding to accusations from the audience that he was holding secret talks with Baku, Harutyunyan said there were no secret arrangements. -02B-
