Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers to Meet in Paris
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will meet with Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and the OSCE Minsk Group on October 27 in Paris, Armenpress reported, referencing Armenian Foreign Minister Tigran Balayan's press secratary.
Nalbandian and Mammadyarov will discuss the damage caused by the August 31 extradition of Azerbaijani office Ramil Safarov from a Hungarian prison and his subsequent pardon. They will explore a way tomove forward from this situation, said Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan in a conversation with Armenpress.
This is the first meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries since the extradition of Safarov, who hacked sleeping Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan with an axe in Budapest in 2004. Both soldiers were participating in a NATO course in Hungary. OSCE MG Co-chairs plan to visit the Karabakh conflict zone on the results of this meeting to "revive" the talks which were frozen after the incident. -0 -
