The Sheki Court of Grave Crimes today began consideration of the criminal case on the riots in Ismayilli in January 2013.
Upon the judges' entering the room, the accused - head of the movement REAL Ilgar Mammadov and deputy chairman of the party Musavat Tofig Yagublu - defiantly did not stand up. The court executives immediately logged that "for a future action."
Then the personal data of the accused were tested. After lunch nomination of petitions by the lawyers is expected.
The trial is attended by one of the leaders of the National Council Jamil Hasanli, U.S. Embassy representatives, and others. Hasanli called the trial of participants in the Ismayilli events "political farce."
The courthouse is under police protection. Access to the building is blocked 50 meters away. Therefore, over a hundred people that arrived from Baku were forced to stay on the street. -06C-
