AWG Discussed the development mode of navigation in the Caspian Sea
Moscow hosted the 41st session of the Ad Hoc Working Group (AWG) on the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the Caspian states on September 8-10.
The talks were attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.
In the discussion of the draft Convention, special attention was focused on the method of setting baselines, the development mode of navigation and marine scientific research in the Caspian Sea. Progress was recorded in a test of the draft Convention. The exchange of expert opinions will continue at the next meetings of the AWG, the communique issued after the meeting says.
The next meeting of the JWG will be held in Kazakhstan. The date is to be agreed through diplomatic channels. -06D--
