Azerbaijan comments on the position of the Indian Foreign Ministry
Baku/20.05.21/Turan: The head of the press department of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva commented on the statements of the official representative of the Indian Foreign Ministry. On May 19, commenting on the situation on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the representative of the Indian Foreign Ministry noted that they were following the situation with concern.
“Military action strains the border situation and can cause military operations. We urge the culprit to withdraw his troops and stop the provocation,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Leyla Abdullayev, in turn, said that the main reason for border issues is that until November 2020, Armenia illegally occupied the territory of Azerbaijan. "The appeal of the Indian Foreign Ministry for the withdrawal of troops looks strange, while for 30 years there has been no statement about the need to withdraw the armed forces of Armenia from the territories of Azerbaijan."
She also stressed that, as the current chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, Azerbaijan considers the Bandun principles as one of its priorities.
“These principles contribute to the development of fairness and equality in international relations. Any action damaging the unity of the Non-Aligned Movement is unacceptable,” she said. -03-
