Azerbaijan did not invite PACE to the parliamentary elections on September 1
An invitation has not been sent to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to observe the early elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan on September 1ç the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ayhan Hajizadeh told Turan.
He refrained from commenting on the reasons for this decision. At the same time, Hajizadeh said that invitations to monitor the elections have been sent to the OSCE ODIHR, the CIS, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, GUAM, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Organization of Turkic States.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan did not invite the PACE delegation to observe the early presidential elections in February this year. The refusal to invite the PACE delegation was one of the reasons for the termination of the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE for a period of 1 year.
