Azerbaijan Donates Bodies of Thirty Armenian Soldiers, Two Armenians Alive to Armenia
Baku / 29.10.20 / Turan: Azerbaijan today handed over to Armenia the bodies of about 30 Armenian soldiers abandoned on the battlefield, as well as two elderly Armenians left behind on the Azerbaijani side.
Presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev announced this today in an interview with journalists in Terter.
“Based on the initiative of Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani side handed over the bodies of 30 dead soldiers to Armenia. In addition, two elderly Armenians were transferred to Armenia.
Armenia did not show goodwill in this matter. Therefore, we highly appreciate the efforts of the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu,” Hajiyev said.
In his words, as a result of Russia's support for this humanitarian initiative, Armenia agreed to open a humanitarian corridor in the direction of Gazakh-Tovuz and accepted the bodies of the dead soldiers. "This operation has just ended," Hajiyev said at 13:00.
In addition, two elderly Armenians, a man and a woman of 85 years old, who were left by those who left Hadrut when retreating from this town, were transferred to Armenia. They were taken to Baku, where they were under the supervision of doctors.-06D-
