Azerbaijan has allocated $1.6 million to Palestinian refugees
Baku/18.10.23/Turan: At the extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Jeddah on October 18, the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone is being discussed. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov also took part in the meeting. In his speech, he said that Azerbaijan calls on the parties to cease military operations and de-escalation.
He also noted the importance of eliminating threats to the lives of civilians, protecting civilian and infrastructure facilities, as well as holy places. "The news about the possible expansion of the conflict zone causes concern," Bayramov said.
Azerbaijan, always committed to Islamic solidarity, supports the struggle of the Palestinian people for their statehood. Azerbaijan supports the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in accordance with the norms of international law and UN Security Council resolutions, on the basis of the two-state principle with the creation of a Paletian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, Bayramov continued.
Speaking about the efforts to eliminate the consequences of the current conflict, he informed about the allocation of $1.6 million by Azerbaijan to the UN Middle East Agency for Assistance to Palestinian Refugees.
Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to resolve the Palestinian problem in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, the Foreign Minister concluded. ---06B---
