Azerbaijan Increases Export of Defense Products
Baku / 19.01.18 / Turan: Last year, compared to 2016, Azerbaijan increased its export of defense products by 2.3 times. This was stated on Friday by the Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan Yaver Jamalov at a meeting held in this department.
The Defense Industry Ministry, along with fulfilling orders of the Azerbaijani armed forces, exports products to more than 10 countries. The production increased by 10% in comparison with 2016.
"So, last year, serial production of the new generation sniper rifle Yalguzag (lonely wolf - ed.), different caliber mortars, grenade launchers of different caliber, smoke grenade launchers and smoke bombs for armored vehicles, an optical collimator of the KXP type, fragment mines and hand grenades F-1 was started," he said.
In 2017, the enterprises of the Ministry continued to develop new types of defense products. In particular, development work was carried out to create 136 items of defense products. In the near future, the opening of two new factories of the industry is expected.
In total, there are 56 enterprises under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense Industry, Jamalov said. -05D06--
