Azerbaijan is elected to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women
Baku / 08.06.18 / Turan: On June 7, in New York, at a meeting of the supporters of the Convention on the elimination of discrimination against women, Azerbaijan was elected to the Committee for the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. One hundred and forty three votes were cast for candidature of Azerbaijan, 143 votes were cast. Azerbaijan will be represented on the committee in 2019-2022.
CEDAW is the body of independent 23 experts monitoring the implementation by States parties of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. -02D-
