Baku/11.10.23/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov received the EU Special Representative in the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar on Wednesday.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects for a peace agreement and normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the situation in the region, and steps to reintegrate the Armenian population of the Karabakh region.

Bayramov stressed Azerbaijan's interest in mediation of international partners, including the European Union, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports. There is a "historic opportunity" for the final settlement of the 30-year conflict, the achievement of peace and stability in the region.

In this regard, statements about Armenia's revanchism and the cessation of the slanderous campaign against Azerbaijan are unacceptable. Bayramov informed about the work on the reintegration of the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, and the process of their electronic registration on a special portal.

The departure of Armenians from the territory of Azerbaijan is not connected with forced displacement, and recent visits of UN representatives to the region have confirmed this. ---06D---
