Azerbaijan promises to ease the visa regime for Iranian citizens - Qasemi
The representative of Iranian Foreign Minister Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that Iran has agreed with Armenia, Georgia and Turkey to abolish the visa regime for the citizens, according to IRNA. Asking the question on a similar agreement with Azerbaijan, Qasemi said that the cancellation of visas is not on the agenda, but Azerbaijan has promised to ease the visa regime for Iranian citizens. He said that during his visit to Baku, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani could not raise the issue of facilitating the visa regime to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, because he was busy negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Regarding the lifting of the ban on travel to Turkey, imposed by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Qasemi said that the ministry banned the tour operators sending tourists to Turkey for safety reasons and to restore peace and stability there. -0-
