Azerbaijan sent 29 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees
Baku/15.04.22/Turan: The Azerbaijani government has sent humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees in Moldova.
A plane with a cargo of 29 million tons, worth more than 1.7 million manats ($1 million), left Baku for Chisinau today.
Note that the consignment of humanitarian aid consists of medicines and essential goods.
Earlier, on February 26, a plane with humanitarian aid for Ukraine in the form of medicines worth 5 million euro had been sent from Baku to the Polish city of Zheshuv.
On March 12, Azerbaijan sent to Ukraine the second batch of humanitarian aid - food and medicines worth 5.5 million euros.
Besides, a batch of 30 tons of humanitarian aid was sent by the Baku executive authorities to Kiev residents on the night of March 19.-03B06-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
