Azerbaijani Foreign Minister"s visit to Israel - an indicator of the level of relations
On April 22, Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin held in Jerusalem half-hour meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, who arrived in Israel a day earlier. "This visit, the first ever visit to Israel of the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, shows how high the true level of relations between our countries is," said Elkin.
The main topic of the discussion was the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in all areas and, in particular, by the Centre for International Cooperation and Assistance (MASHAV).
Prospects for the development of relations in the sphere of agriculture and medicine are very high, and Mamedyarov invited Elkin to Baku to continue an active and constructive dialogue between the two countries, the website Izrus reported.
The same day, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister met with President Shimon Peres, who praised Azerbaijan's role in combating terrorism. According to unofficial information, the parties reviewed and discussed Tehran's policy in the region.
Today, April 23 Mamedyarov will hold a series of meetings in Tel Aviv with the known Jewish and Israeli businessmen and visit a number of Israeli companies.
On April 24 Mamedyarov will meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after which he will visit the Knesset.
As expected, Mamedyarov will also meet Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon. -02D-
