Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: Bundestag Makes Biased Criticism
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry responded to the resolution of the Bundestag under the name: "The request for protection of human rights in Azerbaijan" adopted yesterday.
The resolution was adopted on the initiative of deputies from the ruling Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union and the Social Democratic Party and criticizes Baku for the suppression of human rights.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called it biased and unjustified criticism, and said the resolution is detrimental to the bilateral relations.
"In Azerbaijan, no one is arrested for journalistic or political activity. The charges in this resolution are totally unfounded,"- the MFA press service commented.
Criticism in the Bundestag resolution comes from false and biased information provided by certain forces and states seeking to harm the authority of Azerbaijan, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Ministry also complained that the resolution refers to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, as well as the presence of refugees, but includes no call to protect the rights of these people and does not mention the Armenian side’s responsibility for it. -06D-
