Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on Bayramov's conversation with Donfrid
Baku/16.02.23/Turan: In a telephone conversation on February 15, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfrid discussed the situation in the region and prospects for negotiations of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This is reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov noted that in accordance with the trilateral statement Azerbaijan guarantees the safety of citizens, vehicles and cargo on the Lachin road. He also stressed that the Armenian side abuses the Lachin road, using it for illegal economic activities, rotation of Armenian soldiers, transportation of mines. Besides, the legitimate demands of the protesters on the Lachin road have still not been met, and claims about the tense humanitarian situation in the region have no basis in fact.
The Minister added that Armenia is resorting to "manipulation" in the negotiation process," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said. -02D-
