Azerbaijani Writer Arrested in Iran for Unusual Activity
Arrested on April 30 in Tabriz, Iran together with the Azerbaijani writer Khalida Khalid, the rights activists - Azerbaijanis Isa Garahanly, Amir Hadiyan and Farhadi have been released under collateral. It is reported by the emigre's Iranian Azerbaijanis Oyannews website.
These persons accused of propaganda against Iran were released on May 6.
Farhadi is the head of the pharmacy Iranian Red Crescent Society in Tabriz and Hadiyan is a student of Tabriz University.
At the same time, a spokesman for the Prosecutor General of Iran Gulamhuseyn Mohsin Adjei said that the cases of two Azerbaijan citizens - Khalid and her driver Shamhal Huseynov will soon be considered by an Iranian court.
In addition, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast confirmed that Khalid and Huseynov are controlled by the Iranian secret services ETTELAAT and their cases are being investigated.
According to him, the security forces monitor foreign nationals who commit "unusual activities and take action against them." What he meant by "unusual activities" remained unclear. -16D06-
