Opportunities for the public insurer has increased by half
State-owned commercial insurance company Azersigorta in the first quarter of this year collected 7 million 624.4 thousand manats of total premiums.
According to the leadership of the financial structure, this was 2.5 million (+47%) more than in the same period in 2012 (according to the Insurance Supervision - 5.18 million manat). Strengthening the position was made possible by compulsory insurance, traditionally the strongest link in the public insurer.
On voluntary insurance they harvested 783.3 thousand manats, and for compulsory one - 6 million 841.1 thousand manats.
Claims volume was 3 million 429 thousand manats (2.1 times more than last year). Here also for voluntary insurance they produced 414.3 thousand manats premiums, and for compulsory insurance - 3 mln 14.7 thsd manats.
The company Azersigorta was created in 1991. At the end of 2009-2011, it was the leader in Azerbaijan in terms of premiums collected and made insurance payments. It is licensed to provide services on 28 voluntary and 10 compulsory insurance items.
The company Azersigorta on March 28, 2012 became a member of the Bureau of Compulsory Insurance.
