Azerbaijan's Large-scale Exercises to Be Held
Baku / 09/13/19 / Turan: On September 16-20, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces will hold next large-scale operational-tactical exercises this year with the participation of various types of troops, military units and formations.
The Ministry of Defense press service informs that the exercise plan envisages a counterattack in the mountains, the application of preemptive strikes in order to defeat enemy units, and take strategic positions.
The exercises will involve 10 thousand personnel, more than 100 tanks and other armored vehicles, 120 large-caliber guns, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, 20 combat aircraft, and drones.
During exercises in difficult mountainous terrain and in electronic warfare, steps will be taken to coordinate the actions of the front and flank strike units with artillery and aviation.
The focus of the exercises will be on improving the skills of command and control of troops, strengthening the moral and psychological spirit and material and technical supply.
The exercises will be held at various training ranges and centers with live firing in conditions as close as possible to the combat situation, the message says.
Note that this is the fourth large-scale exercise of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan this year.
In addition, joint exercises of the units of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as bilateral exercises of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey were held. -02D-
