Baku and Tokyo to Open Direct Flights
Baku / 05.09.18 / Turan: Direct air communication will be opened between Azerbaijan and Japan. This was said during the talks in Baku between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, Elmar Mamedyarov and Taro Kono.
As the Azerbaijani Minister noted, the opening of a direct air service will help increase the tourist flow between the two countries
The Japanese Minister for his part noted that Tokyo had decided to simplify the visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens.
"Japan has decided to simplify the visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens and we intend to strengthen all-round cooperation with Azerbaijan," Kono said.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan has previously simplified the visa regime for Japanese citizens who can obtain visas upon arrival at the Baku airport.
The Ministers also discussed the development of cooperation in the non-oil sector.
According to Mammadyarov, about 30 companies with Japanese capital currently work in Azerbaijan. "Japan has invested $ 7 billion in Azerbaijan, of which $ 100 million is in the non-oil sector," he said. -06D--

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
