Baku demanded from Brussels to investigate the provocation of Armenians against the Azerbaijani embassy
Baku/25.07.20 / Turan: EU Representative in Azerbaijan Kestutis Yankauskas and Belgian Ambassador to Baku Bert Shufs were invited to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on July 24, where Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov met with them.
Khalafov noted that recently radical persons of Armenian nationality in many countries and large cities of Europe have staged acts of vandalism, including trying to break into the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan, staged attacks on Azerbaijanis living in European countries.
On July 22 in Brussels, the Committee of Armenians of Belgium staged a serious provocation in front of the Azerbaijani embassy. At the same time, the Azerbaijani side warned the Belgian authorities about the impending provocation, but its prevention was not up to the mark.
“During this provocation, 6 Azerbaijanis suffered. Khalaf Khalafov demanded that the Belgian authorities conduct a serious investigation of the incident and bring all those responsible to justice,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
The Belgian Ambassador said that the action in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Brussels was unauthorized, and a large number of police officers were deployed in the surrounding territories. However, despite this, the action could not be prevented, and innocent people suffered.
Shufs added that the Belgian authorities regard the incident very serious; the incident will be thoroughly investigated and the information will be brought to the official Baku.-06В-
