Baku Extradites Chechen Who Fought against Russian Troops to Russia
Moscow / 15.03.18 / Turan: At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan has extradited a Chechen accused of participating in military operations against Russian troops in Chechnya in the early 2000s to Russia , the Prosecutor General's Office said.
According to the same source, the Chechen Said Hussein Takayev was extradited for bringing to responsibility under Article 209 (participation in the armed group) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
On February 9, 2018, in connection with the establishment of Takayev's location in Azerbaijan, the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia sent a request for his extradition. Already on February 14 this year the request was satisfied, the report says. -02D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper.
