Baku has been informed of upcoming exercises - Iranian Embassy
Baku/19.10.22/Turan: Iranian Armed Forces' maneuvers and exercises in the northwestern region (recently started on the border with Armenia) are held in accordance with the annual calendar of periodic exercises of the Iranian Armed Forces. - This was stated in the press release of the Iranian Embassy in Baku on October 19 in response to Turan Agency's inquiry about the reason for military exercises on the border with Azerbaijan.
"Taking into account the friendly and brotherly relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan, an official note was given to the Azerbaijani side before the start of the exercises. In addition to this note, in a telephone conversation between Lieutenant General Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, some proposals for cooperation in the exercises that are currently being were made," the press release noted.
"The relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, have always been an object of extensive propaganda by the enemies; however, the vigilance of the leaders of the two countries prevented them from achieving their goals," it concluded. -02B-
