Official Baku responded to a note from Tehran that expressed dissatisfaction with the "anti-Iranian activity in Baku."
Elman Abdullayev, representative of the Foreign Ministry said that statements made at the conference "Tomorrow of modern South Azerbaijan" held in Baku on March 30, does not reflect the position of the Azerbaijani state. Azerbaijan has repeatedly endorsed the building of bilateral relations with Iran in a friendly and brotherly manner, seeing them through the lens of good neighborly relations, reads the response of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran, Javanshir Akhundov, submitted to the Foreign Ministry of Iran.
The National Front for the freedom of South Azerbaijan organized the conference «Tomorrow of modern South Azerbaijan». The conference about the need to support the fight for the sovereignty of the South (Iranian) Azerbaijan took place on 30 March in Baku. -16D04-

Transparency International’s 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) has once again highlighted the persistent challenge of corruption worldwide, underscoring its damaging impact on governance, economic growth, and climate action. The CPI, which evaluates 180 countries based on perceived levels of public sector corruption, assigns each a score from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). The latest report reveals little overall improvement, with the global average score stagnating at 43. Over two-thirds of countries continue to score below 50, indicating that corruption remains a significant and unresolved global issue.
