Vladimir Putin and Nikol Pashinyan
Before the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow, Pashinyan will meet with Putin
Baku/05.05.23/Turan: The day before, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he would go to Moscow next week to meet with Putin. Today, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, when asked whether such a meeting would be held, evasively said: "We will not get ahead of ourselves yet, certain plans are being discussed. As the discussions are finalized, we will make an appropriate announcement," the TASS news agencyquoted Peskov.
A meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia is to be held in Moscow at the end of May, and a meeting of Aliyev-Pashinyan is expected in Chisinau on June 1. Recently, Washington has seized the initiative in mediation between Baku and Yerevan, which Moscow clearly does not like.
Apparently, Pashinyan's visit to Moscow is aimed at softening Russia's discontent over Yerevan's refusal to hear calls that the conflict with Azerbaijan should be sought within the framework of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, and not in the proposals of the West. ---02D---
