Baku/05.05.23/Turan:The  health of the arrested activist of the Popular Front Party Zamin Salayev, who is on a hunger strike for the 88th day, is critical, a lawyer Fahraddin Mehdiyev, who visited Salayev in pre-trial detention center-1 told Turan on May 5. "His blood pressure is at 80/60, he has already lost 45 kg (from 118 kg to 73 kg). He has acute pains in his stomach, kidneys and heart, his  cannot walk,   and  the guards lead him under his arms," the lawyer said.

According to the lawyer, Salayev is forcibly injected with medications under a drip. "He demands to stop it and if forced injections continue, Salayev will go on a dry hunger strike," the lawyer said. There were no positive changes after Salayev's visit by representatives of the Ombudswoman, the Prosecutor General's Office and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Despite numerous requests from relatives, lawyers, and associates to stop the hunger strike, Salayev refuses to do so.
