Berlin Gives Loan for Gas Pipeline from Azerbaijan
Baku / 06.03.18 / Turan: To ensure gas supplies from Azerbaijan, the German government intends to provide a loan guarantee for a large loan of the Azerbaijani state enterprise (SOCAR) in a German bank.
This was announced on Tuesday, March 6, by the dpa agency with reference to a letter from the representative of the German Ministry of Finance, Jens Spahn, which he sent to the budget committee of the Bundestag.
The loan amount is 1.5 billion dollars (1.2 billion euros). "These gas supplies should make a significant contribution to providing gas supply to Europe and Germany," dpa quoted Spahn's letter.
The energy concern E.on signed a long-term contract with Azerbaijan in 2013 on deliveries of natural gas from the field on the Caspian Sea. The agreement provides for an annual receipt by the German company of 1.45 bcm of blue fuel in the period from 2020 to 2044. -02D-

Aliyev emphasized that the "binocular diplomacy" of the European monitoring mission is unacceptable and contributes to distrust in Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union.
